The SC Dental community received word recently from the Department of  Health and Human Services (DHHS) that in addition to 3% rate reductions, DHHS was planning to reduce the resin composite rates to equal the amalgam rates effective September 1, 2011.  The SC Dental Association, led by its Medicaid Committee, and the SC Society of Pediatric Dentistry worked hand in hand to work with DHHS regarding this issue.  The SCDA is pleased to announce that we received word today that the agency WILL NOT be moving in this direction and those rates will not be reduced.
