Everyone is aware of the discussions since January regarding Medicaid reimbursement rates.  Several weeks ago a bulletin was sent out from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announcing a 3% rate reduction effective April 4.  That did not occur due to some additional discussions at the State House.  However, the bill which passed both the Senate and the House giving the DHHS Director authority to cut fees was signed Wednesday, April 6, 2011.  It is anticipated that DHHS will send a Bulletin out today, Thursday, April 7, 2011 and the 3% rate reduction will take effect Friday, April 8, 2011.
