HITECH Act Seminar Now Online

The SCDA held two seminars on the HITECH Act this past fall. This Act states that practitioners or their staffs who break it knowingly or unknowingly can face criminal and/or civil penalties for security breaches.
These seminars brought dentists and their staffs up to speed on what is required within the law and how it specifically pertains to dental practices. It detailed what a breach is defined as and methods for avoiding potential breaches as they pertain to protected health information.
This seminar has been placed on the SCDA website.
