Recently, some of you may have received an announcement and provider application packet from DentaQuest. The letter announces DentaQuest's administration of Blue Choice Health Plan, Medicaid's new expanded adult dental benefit available to members beginning July 1, 2010. The packet includes a provider application for participation with Blue Choice Health Plan Medicaid, a Medicaid managed care organization. It is not an application for participation in South Carolina Healthy Connections, the state's fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid plan through SCDHHS. Providers currently enrolled with Healthy Connections through SCDHHS can continue to provide eligible adult beneficiaries emergency services only. Those wishing to provide additional benefits to Blue Choice Health Plan Medicaid's adult members must contract to be a part of the DentaQuest South Carolina network on behalf of Blue Choice Health Plan Medicaid. As always, the SCDA encourages you to read any contract carefully before signing.
