SCDA's first DAD (Dental Access Days) project has been set for August 27-29 in North Charleston. We thank those who have volunteered, but we need you to join us if you have not already volunteered. We also received generous donations from our members and the community, but more are needed. You can visit the SCDA website to see a video clip on a similar event held by the NC Dental Society plus other information that may be helpful. Please access the volunteer form and sign up today. Plan a trip to the beach and help our state get healthier at the same time!
VACATION TIP
Planning a trip out of the country? It's helpful to schedule a dental checkup before you leave, especially if you'll be traveling in developing countries or remote areas without access to good dental care. If you are thinking about a dental vacation outside the United States in an attempt to save money, which is often referred to as "dental tourism," the below article from the ADA Council on Communications will provide you some things to consider:
It is not too early to go ahead and mark down Friday, December 4, 2009 for the next SCDA House of Delegates meeting. The meeting will be held at Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church in Columbia, same location as last year. Additional details will be sent in the future.
Last year more than 1200 children, families and teachers attended this event. SCDA had a few dentists participate in the activities, but we need more this year. Please consider joining your peers on this date to assist. For now we are compiling a list of those interested in helping out. Please contact Christy at the SCDA by phone 800.327.2598 or by email at [email protected] to inform us of your willingness to help.
