SCDA Annual Convention

The convention returns to Kingston Plantation this year and the convention committee along with President Mercer have planned an outstanding meeting.  There is still time to register.  If you haven't done so, please visit, www.scdaannualsession.com which lists all of the details and events for the meeting.  The online registration process is live.

As part of the annual convention, please note that the House of Delegates meeting will be held on Saturday, May 2 beginning at 2 pm.  The agenda and other documents were mailed to you mid-March.  If you need additional copies, you may download them clicking this link.
Convention Hotel
A number of condos at Kingston Plantation are still available.  If you haven't made your reservations yet, check with Kingston - where you can stay on site and enjoy all that the SCDA Convention offers without leaving the convention site grounds.
"Red Flags" Rule
The SCDA has mentioned several times in past notices and articles the subject of "Red Flags" Rule.  A package will be arriving at your office soon from the SCDA with some important information on this subject.  The ADA has worked hard on your behalf to provide this information as a member benefit.
SCDA's Access Project
The date for SCDA's access project has been set for August 27-29 with the first event being done in North Charleston.  The SCDA has teamed up with Seacoast church to provide the community aspect of this project.  It will be held at the North Charleston Convention Center, the space donated to us by Mayor Keith Summey.  A committee of dentists and other volunteers are meeting to make plans and address the details.  If you would like to be part of this group, please let Phil Latham at the SCDA know.  Also if you haven't done so, we NEED to know who plans to assist during this project.  Visit www.scda.org to download the volunteer form or click here
MUSC Event
MUSC has joined with several sponsors and will be hosting Dr. John Burgess on Saturday, May 16, 2009, for a course titled "Restorative Dentistry Update 2009".  A more detailed brochure can be viewed clicking here.  Make plans to attend as all proceeds will benefit the college's Sim Lab.
Sincerely,

Phil
