Flamma: Gladiator of Rome
Gladiator Myrmillo ACI 1/6 Figure
 | | Flamma |
Gladiators were often criminals or slaves who fought for their lives and freedom in hand-to-hand combat for the entertainment of the Roman public. Flamma was one of the most famous gladiators of his time. He won his freedom (Rudarius) four times, but continued to fight. The Myrmillo (Fish-Man) fighter wore a stylized fish helmet to symbolize Neptune, God of the Sea, and fought with a sword, or gladius. He protected himself from the long trident of his oppontent, the Retiarius, with a full body shield and armored plates strapped to his arms and legs (greaves). ACI's rendering of the gladiator comes alive with a hyper-realistic character head sculpt, and well-defined torso and limbs featuring impressive muscle definition. Details on the body extend to wounds and manifest pores. And strengthened joints will allow you to pose your gladiator in any number of combat poses.
