Kickoff Celebration!
New/current members and their parents are invited to join us for our Meet and Greet Kickoff Celebration for our 2010 season. Parents and members will enjoy delicious refreshments and learn more about the wonderful season that we have planned for 2010!
During this event we will:

* Sign up new members/renew memberships
* "Girl Power Guest" Chat Session~Alana Jones & Yanique Redwood
* "Slumber Party With a Purpose" to Follow Meeting for Members!
We are thrilled to have a special "Girl Power Guest" who truly embodies our theme for this season and is making a difference in her community and across the nation!
Alana Jones, the 13 year old co-founder of
SunkissedGirlz (www.sunkissedgirlz.com) a great new online community for girls will be joining us to chat about how she and her mom, Yanique Redwood, created this wonderful new online community for girls! Alana and her mom created this community in response to the lack of media (i.e., books, television shows, Websites, magazines) designed to meet the unique needs of Black girls, particularly needs around caring for and
styling natural hair. Alana and her mom found that many magazines out there were not geared toward girls that looked like Alana and questioned how the self esteem of girls could flourish when none of the girls looked like her. So, they decided to create something for Alana and girls like her! This is what social change and making a difference is all about, no matter what your age is!

Time: Meet and Greet/Kickoff Meeting ~ 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Slumber Party with a Purpose (Members Only) ~ 7:30- 10:30 a.m

Fees: New Membership Fee: $25 for Year Membership/$40 for 2 Siblings
Renewal Fee: $10
Slumber Party Fee: $10
