Application Groups
This Sunday in our 9:30AM Application Groups we will go over the following questions based on the 1/15/2012 sermon, "True Spiritual Worship" from John 4:19-26: - Coming to God in "True Spiritual Worship" happens only through Jesus Christ. This is both constricting (Jesus is the only way) and freeing (anyone can come). How does this encourage you?
- Why does worship as a religious (ie, external acts) activity have a certain appeal to it? Why is the gospel better than coming to God through mere external acts?
- The text says that, "the Father is seeking" people to worship Him. What about God's fatherly pursuit builds faith in you? Can you think of other aspects of God's fatherly disposition toward you that builds your faith?
- Rod said that true spiritual worship unites our whole being with God, and that this is satisfying at the deepest level for us. Have you experienced what Rod is talking about? How does worship empower you for day to day living?
