What about if you really want to yell at your spouse or your kids, do you take inventory of who might be in earshot? When someone walks into your workspace, do you ever suddenly find yourself trying to look busy? Read More |

The church copy machine went kaput this week. Before we fork over the money to buy a new one, we wanted to see if anyone knew of a used copier in good condition that might be available. If you know of any possibilities, please email Mary Abel. Application Groups
This Sunday in our 9:30AM Application Groups we will go over the following questions based on the 1/8/2012 sermon, "He Came to Give You Life" from John 4:1-18: - John 4 tells us that Jesus "had to go through Samaria" in order to gain the Woman at the Well for His kingdom. Describe the sense of security and confidence it should give us that God set a divine appointment (that He kept) for your conversion.
- Practically speaking, why does it matter that we believe that the spiritual distance between us and God is the same as the cultural/religious/spiritual/ethnic distance between Jesus and the Woman at the Well?
- Viewing Jesus as merely a ticket to heaven, and not as thirst quenching fountain is a widespread problem in American Evangelicalism. Why is this a serious mistake?
- What wells (other than Jesus) are you tempted to drink from? How do Jeremiah 2:12-13 and John 7:37-39 motivate you toward repentance?
- Why is Jesus, through his Spirit in us, the all-satisfying fountain? (Hint: there is not just 1 answer)
