FALL INTO SOME FAMILY FUN
Fall has so many fun possibilities for some family fun. I love this time of year. Heading out into nature is a great way to soak up this colorful season and enjoy the outdoors before cold weather sets in. A walk in your neighborhood is a great way to give kids an opportunity to witness the changing landscape up close. It's also a great way to come together after a busy school and work week. Talk about why the leaves are changing colors. Don't throw the leaves away! Once home, kids can use these finds as craft materials. They can create lasting impressions with a pretty
Watercolor Leaf Rubbing or
Leaf Bouquet Centerpiece .
Fall Into A Good Book:Reading to your child allows you to enhance their vocabulary skills and their love of reading. When sharing books with your child ask them important questions such as:
- Where did the story take place?
- Why did you like/dislike the story?
- What was your favorite part of the story?
- Who were the characters?
Discussing the story helps your child begin to think about the story and explore what the story is really about. Don't forget to discuss the pictures. Pictures or illustrations tell alot about a story. Sometimes illustrations tell something that words can not explain. Here are a few book selections that you and your family might enjoy.
