Pink Blossom Events Newsletter
December 2009
As I headed out the door the day after Thanksgiving, the first thing I did was pop in my Mariah Carrey Christmas CD. Year after year this CD has rang in the Holiday Season for my family and I. From long car rides to early morning wake-ups Mariah has been a part of my Holiday's for as long as I can remember. Every year my family enjoys blasting it Christmas morning which follows with the sound of my Grandma yelling that this woman just screams! Traditions like these are what I treasure about this time of year, along with all of the reasons to celebrate! From family gatherings to white elephant parties, our calendars are full.
In this newsletter I will share some of my favorite party ideas to get you inspired. Plus the announcement of Voila!, a new spin on the traditional wedding show.
While I finish this newsletter today I am putting up the final decorations on my Christmas tree! If you are wondering, yes, my tree is full of pink ornaments.
In closing, during the Holiday Season, more than ever, my thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made my business possible. And in this spirit I must say,
Thank You and Warmest Wishes for a
Wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

Holiday Party Ideas
Looking for a new idea for your annual holiday party? Here are some ideas from three of my favorite parties that I have hosted.
Christmas Pictionary Party
Last year it was a boys vs. girls affair as I planned a Christmas Pictionary Party. Guests were asked to dress in either red (boys) or green (girls) not knowing that they would be divided into teams based on the color of their shirts. Using a regular pictionary board, I created custom categories, everywhere from Christmas characters to Christmas songs. We used two dry erase boards to draw the pictures on. It just so happens the girls dominated the game! In addition there was a Christmas appetizer contest, honoring the most creative appetizer with a dancing Santa prize.
Gingerbread House Night
If you are looking for a more casual evening, invite your friends and family over for a Gingerbread House making night. The host provides a spread of holiday treats and hot cocoa as guests use graham crackers and frosting to create their houses. Make sure to supply plenty of colorful candies to decorate the houses. A simple but fun evening to ring in the holidays!
White Elephant Party
This year I am hosting a White Elephant Party with a specific theme. Guests have been asked to bring a gift "to entertain yourself or your family while you are trapped at home with the relatives." Some other White Elephant themes include jewelry exchange, gift card exchange or a Christmas ornament exchange.
Still not inspired? Here are some other party ideas that may get you in the holiday spirit; an ugly sweater party, baking or cookie exchange, gift wrapping night, wine or beer tasting party, eggnog party, wreath marking night, family game night, Christmas Movie Night...
Did we miss your favorite holiday party? We would love to hear your ideas. If you send us a truly unique party, we will feature your party on the Pink Blossom Events Blog this month.
The gals at Pink Blossom and Panache Events have teamed up to transform the wedding show experience. After months of planning and preparation, we are proud to announce Voila! Spend the day wandering rooms which have been transformed into spring, summer, autumn and winter as you nibble on savory morsels, sip signature drinks and sample seasonal sweets.
