Gathering of the Groups
Friday, October 16, Noon to 2 pm, Walker Community Room: Luis Alberto Urrea, author of The Devil's Highway, will speak during the annual Gathering of the Groups. The Devil's Highway is being read throughout Northwest Arkansas, including the University of Arkansas campus, as part of the "One Book, One Community" project. Teen Read Week: Realms Beyond Reality Costume Convention
Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 22, 5 pm, Wal-Mart Storytime Room, and Saturday, October 24, 3 pm, Walker Community Room: During the week, teens will gather to construct costumes and props based on the most popular teen fantasy, sci-fi and magna / anime books and films. Materials will be provided. The costumes will be unveiled during the costume convention on Saturday. The events are free and open to ages 12 through 18.
