Spring 2010 Greetings!
January through May are packed with events and we are busily planning our annual Razzle Dazzle dinner. With the district facing a serious budget crisis, BVSD schools are relying on us more than ever to sustain our programs and help fill the gaps!
Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Time to get involved!
The BVSD budget crisis is largely due to state cuts in funding for public education. Impact on Education has joined Great Futures Colorado (GFC), a coalition focused on changing how public education is funded in Colorado. Be sure to join the thousands of citizens that are signing a petition to protect public education funding!
If you would like to recieve information about GFC or other advocacy initiatives that we are addressing, send an email to info@ImpactOnEducation.org and we'll send you "Advocacy Updates".

It's a Match!
Thanks to a generous $3,500 challenge grant from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, we doubled the impact of donations made to the Opportunity Fund at our recent Impact Awards dinner. The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado supports community non-profits such as Impact on Education while highlighting the contributions of gay men and lesbians. The Opportunity Fund provides access to fee-based academic and extracurricular activities to students in need. In today's economy and with looming cuts to school budgets, the Opportunity Fund and our generous supporters are a match made in heaven!

Education is Fashionable!
Fabulous fashion fête
On March 11th, Downtown Boulder Inc. brought fashion to Boulder with "Fashion Under the Flatirons". Emceed by World Cup freeskier & former CU Buff, Jeremy Bloom, professional models strutted the styles of Downtown Boulder retailers on the runway at the Boulder Theater. The event raised money for Impact on Education, provided over 250 attendees with a great "girls night out", "mother/daughter" evening and "oggling" opportunity for men who loved being outnumbered!
