5 Free (or cheap!) Resources for Building Better Business
1. FacebookSo of the big three (Twitter, Linked In and Facebook) I am finding that Facebook is a great tool for building online presence if you're a small business with a limited budget. First off - it's free! Second, it's a great way to establish your business "culture". A great way to use it is to promote a product or service that people want to talk about - it's a great place for customers to share their stories and add validity to your offering. 2. Computer Monitor CalibrationGive yourself the color advantage on your digital print runs! Set your monitor back to the factory default.
Most importantly, make sure the brightness and contrast are at the
default, usually 50%. Do a basic calibration HERE

Domain Registration & Url ForwardingIf you're going into business you're going to need a website, and the first order of business is to register a domain name. If you want to register a few
domains, take advantage of URL forwarding and point them at your site. It's cheap and it's easy, check it out here. Another great tip for developing an online presence on the cheap is to register a domain name and forward it to your Facebook page. 4. Take Advantage of Promo Codes Have you ever ordered something online and noted the area to enter a coupon or promo code and been annoyed at the knowledge that someone else is getting the same product cheaper? Calibrate your computer monitor.
What you see on the screen may not be what you get back from the printer! Most monitor manufacturers do not sell their monitors with color printing in mind. They are often very bright for improved readability.
Keep in mind, if absolute color matching is key to your next print project - consider offset printing with Pantone colors.
Monitor calibration is not fool proof, it will just be a step in the right direction for getting better results in your printed material.
