Nationals
The Stowe NCR is early this year because of the season. There is a lot of racing left afterwards into the first week of December. All Atlantic regions have events in October.

Next year the NCR will return to Charleston the first part of November.

 Need Help
The Class no longer receives a searchable database from the AMYA. We need to have boat registrations emailed to the CS with the AMYA membership number and all boat and personal information to fill out the Registry. I have been casual about this but now I cannot for I do not have the information on the members.
Thank You
Mystic Seaport Mystic Seaport

Mystic Seaport is a big regatta with four days of racing. The Class thanks Chuck Luscomb for his management of the regatta and coordination with the Seaport which is major for a successful event for the Class and the Seaport. They like us and so do the spectators.

The first two days were with the J Class group. This was a much contested event of monsters over a very long course on the North Lawn. Many of you do not know what it is like to have a J Class Ranger go wing on wing behind you approaching the leeward rounding; the mark and you disappear.

The top five were Chuck Luscomb in a Ranger with blazing speed, Bruce Walton in a Ranger, David Brawner in a Shamrock, Biff Martin in a Ranger and Rick West in a Shamrock.

The EC12 Class showed on the third day with light and fluky air that required many and sometimes very innovative course changes. There was not much the RC could do to improve a weak windward mark rounding that continued though the event and changed the fates of many.

Breezes were out of the southeast (the worst) through to the end with Sunday having the highest velocity at 10 knots. From the end of Saturday the leader board churned to put on the podium the Regional Champion Dave Ramos with 71 points, Rick West with 76 followed by Chuck Luscomb, Jake Leo and Chuck Poindexter. It was a truly contested regional event.

The Stowe MYC has a long history with this Class and has hosted a NCR before. This time racing for the event will at the Waterbury Center State Park just south of town.
The Commodores Inn remains Race Central. Owner and sailor Bruce Nourjian provides accommodations and activies specifically for the Class. The pond at the Inn has been a popular sailing destination for decades during the Summer. A limited number of rooms will be available to the Class. All planned activities will be held at the Inn.
The event begins on Wednesday, September 8th with measuring and practice sailing at the new location and the pond at the Inn. It will end with an awards banquet at the Inn on Saturday evening. This is a vacation location so start planning and get your reservations and entry completed soon.
