Event Support
Race Directors and event organizers work hard to fill the Class calendar every year. We can provide them with great support in planning our racing schedules so that entries can flow to these volunteers soon after the NOR is posted.
This support is greatly needed for them to make arrangements and provide logistics for the number of people that will attend. As in all such things, there are costs in advance of an event and the deadline for entries that cannot  reverse many costs.
The example this year was two events, that ended up well attended but nearly cancelled one week before the deadline.
Your support would be appreciated and shown by the hosts that receive you.

Gerry Cobley loves a regatta when the air is confused, still, different two boat lengths away or all the above at once and sweating hot. Like Atlanta in April his performance was suberb before a large fleet of 23.
To be on the podium for this one was also a feat. Joe Walter, David Brawner, Dave Ramos and Bob Dudinsky also deserve to be noted.
Uncle Frank and his sidekick Cameron Hunt and the entire Peidmont MYC was on hand hosting and helping. The pond surroundings were pleasant and to our shock the center fountain was missing. This increased the area for the wing mark and removed a major obstruction to our relief. It was tough and frustrating but a fun and pleasant gathering.

The Stowe MYC has a long history with this Class and has hosted a NCR before. This time racing for the event will at the Waterbury Center State Park just south of town.
The Commodores Inn remains Race Central. Owner and sailor Bruce Nourjian provides accommodations and activies specifically for the Class. The pond at the Inn has been a popular sailing destination for decades during the Summer. A limited number of rooms will be available to the Class. All planned activities will be held at the Inn.
The event begins on Wednesday, September 8th with measuring and practice sailing at the new location and the pond at the Inn. It will end with an awards banquet at the Inn on Saturday evening. This is a vacation location so start planning and get your reservations and entry completed soon.

Mystic Seaport Mystic Seaport
If it is August, the Class is at Mystic. We have been there many years for Race Week and now every year. The format of sailing the EC12 and the J Class in a three day event was requested by the members and supported by the Museum. Because of this we sail on the North Lawn in the quieter waters of the river.
This is a unique event and in a beautiful setting. This will be the Region 1 Championships for both classes. Racing begins on Friday August 13th and ends Sunday afternoon. This too is a vacation location and a few days visiting the Seaport Museum and other attractions in Groton and New London will bring rewards along this New England seacoast.
A Rules Briefing
from publications by Tom Germer
Here are some basics. You likely understand how to act but do you know what to say about it.
Sailing Schedule Stuff
There are no EC12 events in the month of July. It is hot, still and muggy. Yuk.
Make your plans and file you entries:
August is Mystic Seaport and a three day event with the EC12 and J Class boats.
September is the NCR and the always fun event at Sun City.

Please check the Florida website for all information on regattas in that state.
