Administration
The Class will not be able to continue with some services provided to the membership that are related to record searching and other data related conveniences or verify AMYA memberships. We have not received the MS Access monthly distributed AMYA searchable database this year. Nor has there been notice or response from the AMYA.
Most importantly, we will not be able to do casual registrations of boat for you that are new or transfered without the full imformation of the transaction you wish. Please send all the related information and numbers. Email will be fine.
There are signs that the long awaited new database is on the horizon, as stated by the President in the last issue of Model Yachting. So, related Class services for you should resume sometime in the future.

 chuck luscombNewport Harbor
The report is not out yet but word is typical Newport; breezes, seas and the smell of salt. Although generally less show for this real sailing event, eleven showed from around the Region with Doc Greer from FL and Dave Ramos of the Annapolis area. Chuck Luscomb, our Rep and leader of the Region blew them all away for the convincing win. Bob Greer, Jake Leo, Bruce Walton and Dave VanCleef followed.
 chris kakavasLake Crabtree
Chris Kavavas of the Piedmont group won the debut regatta at Raleigh's new venue. All said it was a good event with the lake and facilities worthy of major events. The weather was good and the breezes mid range for the EC12 with some testing their B rigs.
Fourteen showed for 25 races. Gerry Cobley, Bob Szczeppanski, Scott Vernon and Eric Olsen followed onto the podium.
 amya logoRegion 7 Motion
A Region 3 reapportionment  motion was filed and was approved by the BOD and hence will be on the ballot this Fall. President Maxson has presented his view in his Presidents Letter column of Model Yachting. The current representatives of Region 3 have asked this Newsletter to present their view of the matter. It is so printed in the following link.

Photo Contest
We are going to do this again this year. Take your best images from anywhere about the EC12 and the people. Send them to Mike Cavanaugh at State College. The rules are simple and this should be fun. The prize is a free AMYA membership of your choosing or renewal. Check out this link for more information, contest and rules.
