Never mind the weather. It will fade away. The days are getting longer. The big screens are getting bigger for the Bowl games and the Green Mountain Boys at Stowe will sit down in two weeks for planning as hosts for the 2010 Nationals in September.
It happened in 2009:
January - Chesapeake Performance Models joins the Suppliers List. Revised Class Rules take effect. Class Photo Contest initiated. Ready to Sail EC12s and full kits reach the retail level.
February - Bob Szczepanski develops Sirius Sails and added to the Suppliers List. Debate begins for a Region 7 and is later defeated on the BOD. Skip Allen featured here and only builder to document the lay up of a hull.
March - Class to host Morgan-Black International Regatta in October. Reichard Kahle wins the Champions Regatta.
April - The Region 5 racing bulletin board noted.
September - The Class Registry of boats and owners goes online.
October - Rick Gerry wins the Morgan-Black International. AMYA launches new website with new management.
November - Reichard Kahle wins his second Nationals. An eStore for Class logo clothing joins the Suppliers List.
December - Chris Harmer of NZL wins first photo constest. Building site is finally revised with new pages added.
The 2010 Sailing Schedule came together a few days ago. We will have 24 total events in the Class and 22 are posted on the AMYA site. Once again we will have five regional regattas before the trek north to Stowe. Please take a look at the sailing listed on the AMYA site. The EC12 presence is overwhelming. It is kudos to Class management and the many of you that work hard to bring it together every year. Impressive.
The Champions Regatta Series is updated for 2010 and posted. The Qualified List is also posted for the coming year.

State of the News
Since 2003, the EC12 Net News has been delivering items of interest to the Class. What started as a compilation of personal address books of about 100 has grown to 586 subscribers. The switch to the professional email delivery system last January prompted the largest annual increase in readership of 122.
Over the years 200 have been removed from the mailing list because their email stopped working. So remember, if you change your address you can update your profile at the bottom of all Issues of the News or you can contact me at mailto:fangel@triad.rr.com.
