Entries are currently at around 42. The entry deadline is Friday October 2. Within a few days of this the Who's Coming list on the event website will be completed so you can see the roster.
It looks like we will have five National Champions attending and about 26 of the 45 sailors that qualified. The event is still wide open, as it always has been. Y'all come now.
resort hotel Nationals Accommodations
The Comfort Suites World golf Village is a resort venue with all services needed by the Class for a major event. All regatta and social events will be held on the property. Touring specials being arranged in St. Augustine will depart from the hotel. One of the conference rooms has been provided for meetings, seminars, Class Secretary's office and boat storage during the event. This is part of the package arrangements made by Joe Walter and staff for our convenience in having an accommodation central to our activities. Boat and gear storage will only be available to hotel guests. The special low room rate is only available to those participating in the event.
We are expecting to have a full roster of competitors. The Race Committee and the hotel management are expecting entries will book their stay at the hotel in support of the Class and the management offers. This is important to the Class in our relations with such locations during our visit and in the future.
Visit the Event Website and the Venue and Hotel pages. It is a good value. It is a big deal. Booking your stay at the Comfort Suites now is important to the Class and the final arrangements. It is easy to do and the commitment only begins when you arrive.

  AMYA Website
The Class must know the site has been shut down. The Region 2 Director sent out a brief notice there is a transition taking place. A notice was sent to all Region 6 members and the Florida EC12 Association was copied. the wording of the notice on the site by the hosting company is not what it seems to mean. The AMYA appear to have no control of this notice.
There has been a volunteer team working on a new site and they are some weeks away in going live with a basic website and a new domain name. Generally, these things are done in the background and a website is swapped seamlessly. It appears that was not possible and hence the confusion.
There is nothing wrong. In fact this is a good thing. In addition to the new site and associated with this effort an all AMYA communications program is being developed. This too will be a huge good thing.
The technical team asks for your patience and understanding and good things are coming.

 Racing News

It has been a busy summer and the sailing season is far from over.
Dave Ramos won the Mystic Region 1 Championship and back to back took the Thunder Mug Trophy at Deep River.
Rick Gerry pushed past National Champion Reichard Kahle to win the Sun City-Hilton Head event by 2 points. This event was heavily attended.
Columbia, MD will be next weekend and the following week will be the 2009 Morgan-Black International in Charleston. The middle of the month is the Gator Regatta in The Villages and the next weekend is Wisteria Cup in Charleston and the first Annapolis Regatta at Sandy Point State Park. After the NCR is the first Punta Gorda Regatta the first weekend of December. Whew!!
All regattas from the Gator through the rest of this year will be on the Q List for the 2010 season. No one is left out. The NCR next year will be at Stowe, VT in the Waterbury State Park September 8-11. The Green Mountain boys are hosting and it will be glorious.
