Hit television show, Ghost Hunters, to feature Missouri State Penitentiary on November 2

For immediate release: August 30, 2011

It's time to find out what kinds of unusual things really take place within the walls of the Missouri State Penitentiary.

The Missouri State Penitentiary will be featured on Ghost Hunters on Wednesday, November 2. The 2011 season premiered on August 24, and the Bureau found out today that MSP will make its Ghost Hunters' debut in November.

The Bureau is in the process of planning an event in conjunction with the airing of the MSP episode; the public will be invited. More details will be forthcoming.

Ghost Hunters came to Jefferson City in June to investigate the historic Missouri State Penitentiary site.  The cast and crew spent about a week filming and exploring the facility. Their findings will be revealed in the upcoming episode.

Premiering in 2004, Ghost Hunters is an American paranormal reality television series that shows once a week on Syfy.  Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, leaders of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), worked during the day as plumbers and at night investigated sites.  As the popularity of the show has grown, so has the scope of work for Hawes and Wilson, who now focus predominantly on their ghost hunting profession. Their goal is to track down paranormals in sites across the country.
