CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU RESUMES SATURDAY HOURS
Jefferson City, Missouri- March 7, 2011
Starting March 12, the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau will resume its Saturday hours. The Bureau will be open every Saturday until the end of October, excluding Easter Saturday (April 23).
Over the past three years, the Bureau has offered extended business hours every Saturday from April through October. The Bureau found that the staff was able to help a large number of visitors who were downtown for different events, prison tours or visiting Jefferson City during the weekend. As the weather gets warmer, many events will take place in Jefferson City on the weekends and the Convention and Visitors Bureau strives to be accessible to those who may need information about the city.
"These extra hours are designed to cater specifically to our visitors who will be in Jefferson City for tours and events going on throughout the city," said Steve Picker, Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director. "By opening for a few hours on Saturdays, we extend our outreach to those visiting our community."
The office will typically be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but hours may be adjusted to coincide with other scheduled events in the downtown area.
