Shop for your Christmas gifts at the CVB
The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau has unique gifts for the person who has everything- a Shanks to Shakers: Reflections of the Missouri State Penitentiary coffee table book, a Missouri State Penitentiary prison tour gift certificate and an inmate-made souvenir. What could be better?
The CVB is partnering with Mark Schreiber to develop a unique volume documenting rare, historical, collectible artifacts of MSP. Shanks to Shakers, scheduled for publication in 2011, will be a pictorial record of hundreds of items associated with life behind the walls. Although it would be impossible to compile an all-inclusive volume, Shanks to Shakers will, for the first time, provide a guide for those interested in the history of MSP artifacts. The volume will be a hardback coffee table style publication in full color. Old photographs, books, postcards, prison made weapons, paintings, wood carvings and even salt and pepper shakers once sold in the prison gift shop are among the many items documented. Shanks to Shakers will make an excellent gift and will no doubt become a rare collectible.
Don't miss a unique opportunity to reserve a copy of this limited edition book or order other souvenirs (see what's available at www.MissouriPenTours.com). Contact Megan at (866) 998-6998 or megan@visitjeffersoncity.com today! |

Guest bloggers wanted
If you like to write, share your opinion with others or simply have a passion for Jefferson City, we have a great opportunity for you! The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau started a blog (blog.visitjeffersoncity.com) just over a year ago and has been posting information since then. Now, the Bureau would like to add some new 'voices' to its blog; that's where you come in. Last year we had several volunteer bloggers who have done an excellent job, but we'd like to add a couple more.
We are looking for people who are willing to write one blog posting a month about a specific topic in Jefferson City. We would like to have one or two bloggers assigned to each of the following areas of interest: theater and art in Jefferson City, restaurants and night life in Jefferson City, history and museums in Jefferson City, sports and recreation in Jefferson City and special events in Jefferson City. Blog postings are only a couple of paragraphs, so the time commitment is fairly minimal. Photographs and video footage are great additions to text, but are not necessary.
So, if you are interested in promoting your city, helping our the Convention and Visitors Bureau and experiencing fun things in Jefferson City by writing for our blog, contact Sarah Stroesser at sarah@visitjeffersoncity.com or 573-632-2820. If you don't contact us, we might be contacting you! |
