MISSOURI STATE PENITENTIARY RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS

Jefferson City, Missouri- September 21, 2010

The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau has received countless e-mails, letters and phone calls from those who have visited the Missouri State Penitentiary and want to voice their support for the tour.  Those comments are now available on the Missouri State Penitentiary web site.

The Bureau recently added written and video comments from some of the thousands who have toured the historic prison.  People's reactions have been nothing but incredibly positive and supportive of retaining and promoting the historical significance of the Missouri State Penitentiary.

Eric from Camdenton, Missouri said, "I enjoyed the tour SO much...it was very interesting...in fact I'd like to come back for a personal visit with some of my friends...I've told them about the tour and they are very interested in taking the tour as well."

Earl from Sycamore, Illinois said, "I would like to take this opportunity to tell you once again how much I appreciated being able to visit the Missouri State Penitentiary at the end of July. This tour gave me the opportunity to learn what a role this very old penitentiary has played in the history of not only Missouri but also for the country as a whole. Not only were we provided with an in-depth tour of the facilities, but we were also provided with two extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides. Their colorful stories helped make the history of the penitentiary come alive."
