TOURISM PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS STATE HOST CAPITOL DAYS FOR TOURISM IN JEFFERSON CITY
Jefferson City, Missouri- February 8, 2010
On March 3-4, 2010, many of Missouri's tourism professionals will travel to Jefferson City to interact with the state legislature. Capitol Days for Tourism, sponsored by the Missouri Travel Council, is an annual event that offers the tourism industry a chance to emphasize the importance of tourism to Missouri's economy.
Wednesday, March 3, hospitality partners will have the opportunity to learn about what's happening in the Capitol, specifically in regard to issues of importance to the tourism industry. Attendees will then visit their respective legislators' offices to discuss the invaluable economic benefit tourism provides to the state.
Thursday morning's event closes out Capitol Days for Tourism with a bang. Legislators are invited to attend a pancake breakfast on the Capitol's 3rd floor rotunda. But this isn't just any pancake breakfast, several senators and representatives take their turns cooking up flapjacks and serving those going through the line. Some legislators even take the opportunity to play "catch" with the pancakes. The pancake flipping starts at 7:30 a.m. This breakfast is always well attended by Capitol employees and allows tourism representatives to interact with their legislators once again.
