Bureau web site receives a face lift
The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau introduced its redesigned web site last week. The home page ( www.VisitJeffersonCity.com) has been changed to incorporate buttons directing visitors to the Bureau's social media pages. The overall look of the site has improved as well and now has a much more contemporary edge. Recent trends in marketing continue to emphasize the importance of social media, therefore the Bureau has responded by creating accounts on several of the most popular social media networks including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. The Bureau is also in the process of starting a blog. The new set up of the home page allows users to easily access all of the Bureau's other accounts and become a fan on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. The Wowget, another new feature, is an interactive media player that hosts photos, videos, podcasts and more. This allows the Bureau to upload dozens of visual representations of Jefferson City in one player. The web site, of course, still hosts a plethora of information about Jefferson City including places to stay, things to see, places to eat and events to attend. For more information about the web site or Jefferson City, contact the Bureau. |

Bureau introduces new community videos
The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau just completed a series of videos highlighting Jefferson City. The videos will be part of a three year promotional campaign conducted by CGI Communications, Inc.
e-LocalLink, a division of CGI, traveled to Jefferson City at the end of June to film a series of online videos to showcase the assets and attributes that the City of Jefferson City has to offer to its residents, its visitors and its business community. These videos are now available on the Bureau's web site, www.visitjeffersoncity.com.
Each video is about one minute and thirty seconds long and highlights the following topics: real estate, quality of life, education, accommodations, arts and entertainment, downtown, recreation and things to do, tourism and things to do and the Missouri State Capitol. A general welcome video, featuring Mayor John Landwehr, was also produced.
Go online and check out these videos to see what you've been missing in Jefferson City! |
Book tours of the Missouri State Penitentiary onlineThe Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau recently launched its Missouri State Penitentiary web site, www.MissouriPenTours.com, a web site boasting tons of historic information about the penitentiary. Now, users have the option to book tours of MSP through this site. There is a link on the home page that takes you directly to a tour booking web site and lists all of the tours and their availability. If the tour is sold out, it will say "tour is full" so you know right away what your options are. The Bureau controls the ticket inventory and keeps the information completely up to date. Log on today and book your tour, pay for your ticket(s) and you will be set to go! |
Nathan Allen has joined the staff of the Convention and Visitors Bureau as an intern for the fall. Nathan attended grade school and high school in Jefferson City and graduated from Lindenwood University in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree in corporate communications. Nathan will focus on public relations and marketing projects during his time at the Bureau.
