Dear Greenheart Friends,
The big news this month is that for the first time ever, an Integral Transformative Practice workshop will be hosted in Chicago Oct. 29-30 courtesy of Greenheart. We will kick off the weekend with a free information session at the Greenheart Shop at 7p.m. on Friday, Oct.28 to lead into the exciting two-day retreat.
If you are anywhere near the Chicago area, and can work one or both days into your weekend schedule, I highly recommend doing so. Pamela Kramer and Barry Robbins from ITP, will be flying in to the city to lead the workshop, and I'm sure you will resonate with their wonderful guidance just as I did over the summer.
As spiritual leader and author, Andrew Harvey said in a recent issue of Mindful Metropolis: "You cannot be a sacred activist - someone who fuses together deep inner knowledge with wise outer action - without first making a rock solid commitment to a daily spiritual discipline." I couldn't agree more. If we are not regularly practicing some technique to improve ourselves, then we aren't really doing much to transform. I believe ITP combines the right amount of various disciplines to give the practitioner what they need in a daily routine.
Speaking of transformation, these days we're looking at a shift in consciousness toward a unified vision of sharing and compassion. I'm excited about the Greenheart Book Club, who has begun meeting to discuss this subject while contributing a very high level dialogue toward my next talk. Mark your calendars for Nov. 17, where I will present "The Second Coming of Consciousness; Why the Global Good Trumps the Separate Self." I hope to see you all there, where we can continue the discussion on our current transformation and global shift.
Peace,
Emanuel ____________________________________________________

Questions with Emanuel:
Experiencing Integral Transformative Practice
Q: How did you discover Integral Transformative Practice?
EK: The name itself; "integral," "transformative" and "practice" are three, really great words and exactly what I was looking for during a past workshop I was attending. But even more than this description for the Integral Transformative Practice breakout session, was what I read about its history and development.
ITP follows the same line of thinking as many of the retreats I have hosted. Over the course of the workshop, we do transform our consciousness, but the real challenge is sustaining that focus when we return to the reality of our everyday lives. This practice, created by Michael Murphy and George Leonard, from the Esalen Institute, specifically set out to develop a method for their participants to take home with them so they could continue their connection with the transformative process in their daily routine. This is what really drew me in to try ITP for the first time.
Read the Q & A with Emanuel on the importance of ITP and its use as a transformative method.

Quote of the Month: Post Shift Society Must Focus on Sharing
"In the post shift society, one of the first changes that we'll note is that people will gain their enlightenment and joy more from the social experience rather than in individual gratification. Lost will be the rugged individual's need to win, or the constant comparison of success, wealth and material accumulation.
