About the Stock Market Game & Investwrite
| | |
The Stock Market Game™ is
an educational program of the Foundation for Investor Education (FIE), an
affiliate of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
The Stock Market Game (SMG) program provides its participants with a variety of
classroom curricula and other educational resources in support of its online
investment simulation. Since its introduction in 1976, the SMG program has
helped more than ten million students nationally and internationally learn how
financial markets work and about their role in those markets.
InvestWrite, an innovative national writing competition, produced by
The Stock Market Game program, adds a critical thinking component to help
reinforce concepts learned in the classroom. Students participate by writing essays in their grade division. Every assignment introduces or relates to investment principles linked to The Stock
Market Game program. Each InvestWrite assignment ties to various lessons throughout
the curriculum.Students at the national level, have a
chance to win gift certificates and a trip to New York and netbook computers.
