Tax and Recordkeeping Basics
for the Independent Professional |
Some of you have asked about the second edition of my book, Self-employed Tax Solutions, offered for preorder on Amazon. I do not know when the second edition will be available. But I do know that the economic morass that we are all in has indies looking to increase income, cut expenses and lower the tax bite. I'd like to help and here's the scoop on how. As those of you who have read Self-employed Tax Solutions already know, in addition to a basic education in being self-employed, recordkeeping, and how to pay the least amount of tax legitimately possible, my book explains things such as
- The difference between hobby and business
- When travel is deductible as a business expense
- How to determine if you can deduct the costs of a home office
- How to calculate estimated tax payments
The entire Table of Contents can be seen here.
Self-employed Tax Solutions is a book of basics and none of the basics has changed since the original publication in 2005. Let me assure you that the second edition has everything contained in the earlier 2005 edition. Nothing has been left out. Nothing has been added. Year references in examples, of course, have been updated as has the method for deducting start-up costs.
Those of you with the original edition don't need to spend your money on the new edition.
Indies and future indies who don't yet have the book click here to puchase at the sale price. The offer includes shipping - and for no extra charge a flourished autograph and even whatever inscription you request, however wacky or wondrous, goofy or grand. Or get one for an indie friend. It's the gift that will be used year-round.
Amazon also has great prices on used copies of the original edition.
