Angela Calado, Mike McLaughlin, Dottie Sheldon, Bob Ziepolt, Donald Gallimore, John Harrison (Johnny's Auto), Joyce Sims (Resource Connections), Mary O'Meara (The Arc Doiocese of Washington, Janice Stallworth | On October 20th, The Arc honored Robert Ziepolt with a Lifetime Achievement Award as part of its Countywide Awards Program. First President of The Arc Prince George's County, Bob has been a stalwart advocate for the rights of people with developmental disabilities for nearly 60 years. His daughter Elsie has been his inspiration for his lifetime achievement.

Gabby Rodriguez, daughter of The Arc Members Norma and Manny Rodriguez, is using assistive technology devices like the iPad to enhance her world. The Equipment Demonstration and Loan Program allows you to try out a device and see if it fits your needs before you buy it.

Attention Parents: special education clinic and advocacy assistance. | Come to The Arc on November 19th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for a Free Special Education Clinic and receive Advocacy Assistance and Information. Appointments are necessary for individual attorney/paralegal meetings. Please call MDLC at 800-233-7201, ext. 2516 or MCIE at 410-859-5400, ext. 118, by November 15th to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcomed. Representatives from PGCPS will be on hand to answer questions and hear your concerns. Community and family resources will be available. |

- Congratulations to former Arc Board member Derrick Leon Davis, who has been elected to the Prince George's County Council to represent residents of District 6.
- It's not to late to contact your members of Congress about the importance of saving Medicaid, the lifeline for residential, day, and employment supports for many individuals and families. For more information, contact Bea Rodgers, Public Policy Coordinator at The Arc. Take Action Now! Be a part of the solution!
- The Arc is in the process of meeting with each County Council Member to let them know about the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and how we can partner together. If you are interested in joining the visiting team, contact Bea Rogers.
