Maryland State FlagDDA FY 2012 Budget ... Good News, Bad News

Governor O'Malley released his proposed FY 2012 Budget last week and there is good news and bad news for individuals and families relying on funding through the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

The good news is that the budget includes employment and day program funding for 607 students who are transitioning from school to the world of adulthood. The cost of these services is $10.1 million. In addition, there are small amounts for expansion of services for people in emergency situations, adult children with elderly parents, and individuals requiring services through court orders.
