Come play with us!
The Arc Childcare Programs support children with disabilities and medically fragile conditions in inclusive settings within The Bowie YMCA and the Easter Seals NARA Center in College Park. Licensed nurses oversee the children's medical needs and provide staff and parent training.
The centers operate within the Creative Classroom curriculum where motor and cognitive development skills are addressed in daily activities that are adapted to meet each child's specific strengths and needs. Therapies authorized through the Infants and Toddlers Program may be provided in the center within the typical daily routine. Statistics show that children with special needs who have the opportunity to play and learn with their typically developing age mates progress more rapidly than those who do not. Contact Judy Tribby, Nurse Administrator at jtribby@thearcofpgc.org or 301-538-5080 for more information. |

Arc volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels. | Making a Difference in Our Community!
The Arc's Employment Services Division is giving back to the community through volunteer work. Over 30 individuals supported by The Arc are giving time each week to local organizations that serve people who are homeless, elderly, or just in need of a little extra help. Deborah Goins, Director of Employment Services says, "We want to make sure that during these difficult ecomonic times, our participants are involved in the community and engaged in building employment skills." If you have volunteer or employment opportunities for Arc program participants, contact Deborah Goins at 240-289-0115, ext. 226. |

Tell The Arc your thoughts:
The Arc of the United States is conducting a survey to gather information from people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in order to understand the services they now receive and may want or need in the future. The information will be used to help The Arc as it works with legislators at the federal and state levels to advocate for better resources and will help The Arc develop its strategic framework for the future.
Please take a moment to complete the survey to provide your valuable insight. Click here to access the survey. |

Interns, Interns, Everywhere!
Here at The Arc we are proud of our mission of offering a lifetime of support, understanding, and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and their families, and we hope to share our expertise in the field with as many people as possible.
That is one reason why The Arc offers hands-on internships for college students. This experience allows them to gain the skills needed to shift from the classroom to the workplace, whether they are studying nursing, social work, marketing, public relations, finance, human resources, or business administration.
