 A SPARKLING CLEAN YMCA!

Annual Refurbishing

The end of summer brings many changes--the beginning of school, a less crowded I-64, (hopefully) cooler temperatures, and a newly refurbished Victory Family YMCA!

On Tuesday, September 4th, enjoy shiny wood floors and a gleaming facility.

August 27-29: Facility closed for annual refurbishing

August 30-Sept. 2:  Building open regular hours; Gym, Studio A, Family Strength Zone and Racquetball courts closed for floor refinishing

September 3: Labor Day, all YMCAs closed

September 4:  Victory YMCA resumes normal operations.

As always, your patience during this process is appreciated.

If you have any questions, please contact the Welcome Center at (757) 867-3300.

AUGUST IS FAMILY FUN MONTH!

Did you know that spending time together as a family:

...is associated with greater emotional bonding within the family?
...contributes to children's academic success?

...is linked to fewer behavioral issues with adolescents; such as violence, substance abuse and emotional distress?

Different Ways To Spend Family Time Together:

  • Decide together which activities and games to play

  • Attend family gym activities at the Y on Sunday afternoons

  • Read aloud together

  • Plan a sports outing and support your local teams

  • Go camping or hiking

  • Bake or cook together

  • Take opportunities as they appear; If your child asks to go for a walk or play a game, try to make time

  • Set aside a specific time for family time and make it a priority
