The Victory Family YMCA provided 947 Child Care scholarships in afterschool and Day Camp programs valued at $23,304 last year with the help from your United Way designations. The Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA has always been a United Way agency.
The YMCA will only receive United Way funds that are designated by you the donor. Please designate your United Way donation the Victory Family YMCA (7030).

On Friday, August 5, grab your lawn chair and bring your family around to the Victory YMCA backyard for an evening of food, games, crafts and fun as we celebrate the Grand Opening of our 4000 square-foot renovation!
This free event lasts from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and is open to the public. PDF |

Congratulations to the Masters Swimmers from Victory who participated in the Jack King One Mile Ocean Swim in Virginia Beach last month. Although some are returning veterans, this was the first open-water swim for others.

| BRIGHT BEGINNINGS SHOPPING TRIPS | |

The Bright Beginnings back-to-school shopping days will be the last week of August. We are looking for volunteers to shop with the children for school supplies and clothing. The evening trips are from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and morning trips from 7:30-10:30 a.m.

Lose-To-Win
Join the Lose-to-Win weight loss challenge and experience a life-changing program that includes educational weight loss, nutrition and exercise lectures, periodic motivational challenges, healthy cooking demonstrations and group training sessions with a certified personal trainer.
The program session is from September 19 - November 23. The cost is $75 for members and $150 for non-members. Non-members also receive a 10-week complimentary pass to the Victory Family YMCA while enrolled in the program. Winners are determined by the percentage of weight lost and prizes will be awarded. There are limited slots available, so don't miss out on this great opportunity! PDF Trim Kids
If your child is having difficulty eating right, exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, then the Trim Kids© program may be the solution.
This multidisciplinary 8-week program runs from September 27- November 17 and introduces parents and children, ages 8 - 11, to a lifetime of weight management skills. Parental attendance is required.
Registration is through September 26 and the cost of the class is $65. Non-members receive a family pass to the Victory Family YMCA while they are enrolled. Class size is restricted to 15 so register soon! PDF
