Giving from the Heart
During Tough Times

Our local economy is suffering as much as the rest of the country because of the recession.  The Victory YMCA needs your help to meet the needs of those in our community asking us for assistance.

Please consider participating in our
$5 for 5 months campaign to benefit our Strong Communities Campaign.  We are encouraging our members to ask family, friends and neighbors to also contribute to our cause of helping those in need.  Our goal is to have 1000 people give, so talk to any staff member today to see how you can help!  Please note:  Donations are not limited to $25.  Please see contact information below to learn more.

If you would like to learn more about $5 for 5 months campaign, please contact Donna Blake at Donna.Blake@peninsulaymca.org or at (757) 867-3300 x212.

Help A Child Have
a Bright Beginning This School YearBright Beginnings

Bright Beginnings is a YMCA collaboration that provides new clothes and school supplies to 125 underprivileged children in our community. The goal of this program is to help children have a great start in school by giving them the confidence and the tools they need to learn.

This program embodies our mission statement by building strong kids (self esteem with new supplies and clothing), strong families (easing a financial burden) and strong communities (providing opportunity for people to volunteer their time for the children as well as giving the children a sense of belonging to a community that cares about them).

Volunteers are needed to sponsor a child or to help a child shop for supplies.  For more information, please contact Donna Blake, Community Development Director, at (757) 867-3300 x 212 or Donna.Blake@peninsulaymca.org

Shopping Dates are Aug. 25, 2009 & Aug. 27, 2009 from 8:00am to 11:00am at the York County Walmart.
