Trim Kids: A  12-Week Weight Management Program for Children

Adults are not the only ones who need help staying in shape.  If you see that your child is having difficulty eating right, exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle then the Trim Kids program may be the solution to the problem.

Trim Kids is a successful mulitdisciplinary 12-week program that introduces parents and children ages 8-11 to a lifetime of weight management skills.  This physician referral program involves behavioral, nutritional and exercise components of weight management.

The class runs from March 10th through May 28th on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00- 8:30 pm in the Multi-purpose room.  The cost of the class is $95 for members and non-members. Financial assistance is available.  Registration is ongoing at the Welcome Center until March 6th. There is limited availability since class size is restricted to fifteen so register early!

Strong Communities Campaign: An Important Way to Serve Your Communityvolunteer

The Victory Family YMCA kicked off its annual Strong Communities Campaign on Feb. 17th with over fifty volunteers assisting the YMCA to reach its campaign goal.

Our campaigners (storytellers) will share the story of the YMCA and ask for your assistance. The funds raised enable the YMCA to continue our community outreach programs as well as financial  assistance to families and teens who cannot afford our full rates for programs and memberships. Please pick up one of our flyers in the lobby that explains the impact we have made in our community-- an impact that could not be accomplished without the help of our generous members.

Now more than ever, families are asking for assistance with day camp, school age fees and other programs. One way that you can assist with this program is to donate to our campaign. You may go to our web site at www.peninsulaymca.org and make an online donation to the Victory Family YMCA or stop by the Welcome Center and sign up to have your bank draft increased to a designated amount. These donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for your past support and please help us continue to make an impact on our community.

For more information contact Donna Blake, Community Development Director, at (757) 867-3300 x 212.
