Greetings!

Happy February!  It seems only yesterday (actually, it was in our last issue of our newsletter) that I promised to let you in on something super-duper fantastic that would be happening in Otten Bros. greenhouse this March!  I never break a promise.  Check the article below and get the scoop on why you need to break out your flip flops the first week in March!

I can't believe it is February. Can you? Where has the time gone?  Spring is just around the corner and Otten Bros. is just humming.  Everyone is busy and excited about the upcoming months.

Gerbera DaisyThe Flower Farm greenhouses are starting to burst at the seams with all things green and growing.  Jeff, our grower, is planting and watering and growing gorgeous plants & flowers just for you!  If you want to take a sneak peek (the smell of wet soil is to-die-for on a cold February day!) the Flower Farm will be opening on February 14th!  More information to come in the next newsletter on their early opening and the new products we will be selling!

Here's another way to break the winter blahs. It's the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show.  Otten Bros. Landscape Department will be showcasing their talents in booth 1151!  Stop by and experience new ideas, unique design elements & visit with our creative and talented designers.  The Minneapolis Home Show runs Wednesday, March 2nd through Sunday, March 6th.  Tickets and details can be found online.

Otten Bros. Garden Center is busy unpacking and displaying new merchandise that is arriving EVERYDAY!  It's all about new and fun and spring.  Check out seeds, fairy garden & terrarium accessories and plants, candles & soaps, garden stakes & spinners, table top fountains, jewelry, scarves, t-shirts...the list goes on and on.  Come in and ask 'what's new?', we will have a lot to talk about!

Punxsutawney Phil was Wrong!

It's not 6 more weeks until spring...its only 22 more days!  That's right! Spring is coming to Otten Bros. starting Thursday, March 3rd through the 5th!

Announcing a fresh concept, Flea Market Under Glasssomething never before attempted in annals of Garden Center history, a first-of-its-kind event, don't try this at home - we're professionals, sound the fanfare, bang the drums, part the clouds and the hear the angels sing, its...

FLEA MARKET UNDER GLASS!

Before you shrug your shoulders and say, "huh?," let me explain.

Winter is just plain too long in Minnesota. By the time March rolls around, many of us are going stir crazy, there is still a foot of the evil white stuff covering the ground, and no spring in sight.  We're ready to get out and get gardening but the weather just won't oblige. Otten Bros. Garden Center and Landscaping & Sue Whitney of JunkMarket Style (JMS) have decided to do something about this horrible cold dilemma.

Flea Market Under GlassThis year we wanted to get a jump on spring, turn all those frowns upside down, change the color of the winter blues to green, create a bit of march madness, provide the cure to spring fever and, well, you get the picture...

Otten Bros. & JMS will be will be turning our dormant 15,000 square foot greenhouse into a hot-time, old-school flea market with Sue's undeniable talent for stylish recycled garden décor and Otten Bros. gift for all things green and growing.

Shop Flea Market Under Glass

Thursday, March 3rd thru Saturday, March 5th

Break out your shorts and flip flops and shop your way through top notch flea market vendors, landscape experts, birding authorities, and plant professionals. Otten Bros. will also be showcasing what's piping hot for spring 2011 along with pansies, to-die-for succulents, fairy gardens, terrariums and other new stuff to whet your spring whistle.Flea Market Under Glass

JMS and the best flea market vendors from Minnesota and the surrounding area will converge for the occasion.  Shoppers will be sure to uncover some uncommonly good treasures in this not-so-garden variety selection of junk. There will be plenty of vintage finds for your garden and outdoor living spaces. Even if you're not the outdoorsy type, there will be plenty of goodies to take away for your home décor!

Lastly, Otten Bros. and JMS will team up and take center stage at the event. You'll find us smack dab in the middle of the greenhouse stirring things up a bit. Otten Bros. new products will be commingled with vintage goodies and styled in beautiful vignettes. The careful combinations of old and new will provide inspiration to show goers and help them create gardens and outdoor living spaces that are imaginative and unique to their own style.

Don't Miss It!  Flea Market Under Glass - March 3rd-5th.
