Read-a-thon party 2011

From Rachel Embau, whose parents immigrated from Ethiopia and is determined to get ahead, (watch her on the youtube above - "smartest kid in class"), through Kayla Chigger, a new olah from USA who spent a whole month reading (her parents can't get her to stop!); from Sigal Kamiskow, an extraordinary teacher from Nofei HaSela school whose special attempts were recognized by Aroma by awarding her a free meal, to Suzanne Goldstein, a special friend to A.H.A.V.A. who collected tens of toys donated by American teens to be used as prizes for many readers, Read-a-thon 2011 was chock full of winners; from  Janis Design who went out of their way to design beautiful fliers to entice kids to read, through David Yehuda Ben Avraham who donated his jeep, time and experience for all the kids to have a great time!  Bank Yahav our major sponsor, also handed out great prizes to all the Award Ceremony attendees! All those add up to Remax Atid, Steimatsky's, Adumim Mall, Nof Hayarden, Kol Gina Pnina, and many other businesses who took part of this community project.

Yoav Schurr, head of Ma'ale Adumim's education department summarized the feeling well: "A.H.A.V.A.'s read-a-thon is like any marathon in which endurance and hope is the key to success. Six years ago no one would have believed how far A.H.A.V.A. could come - but Gaila's efforts have proved themselves!"
