Why Should You Cook?

February 2012
Happy Valentine's Day

February is off to a busy start with Black History Month, Valentine's Day, President's Day, and the biggest day of the year in Hollywood - The Academy Awards!

Provisions kicked off the new year with a great, first fist Women Who Wine event and we are happy to announce this as a continuing event.  Our next one will be held on March 1 at the Living Room. See details below.

I am excited to share pictures of our upcoming seven-course wine pairing private dinner in the next month's newsletter.  Provisions caters dinners and parties of all sizes, so you don't have to.  After all, why should you cook?

 Sincerely,

Lisa Feinstein

How To Throw a Great Oscar Party

Provisions caters an annual Oscar Party and always design a menu inspired by the nominated films. This year, there is a decidedly French theme to several of the films including The Artist, Midnight in Paris and Hugo. As the main event of the evening is watching the award ceremony, you need food that can be prepared ahead of time and can be eaten easily.

So we are cooking a modern version of Coq au vin with boneless chicken meat. It is a wonderful hearty French stew that actually tastes better when cooked a day or two before it is served. It can be served with tasty mashed or roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus and a simple green salad -then you have the perfect Academy Awards menu.

Don't forget some great French cheeses and a warm baguette!
