THE PERFECT START TO THE NEW YEAR!!!

Faye and Navid

We ended and began the New Year with a spectacularly beautiful wedding.  As caterers, we do all sorts of events but this wedding was really special.  Faye and Navid are one of those couples that make you believe in fairy tales and happy endings.  We created a special menu that brought together their very different lives - West L.A. Jewish (vegetarian) and Persian by way of Europe and India (Not vegetarian):

White Bean Cassoulet

Pomegranate Glazed Lamb

Braised Jidori Chicken

with Saffron and Onions, Couscous and Dates

Butter & herb Carrots

Grilled asparagus

Green Salad with radishes and herb Vinaigrette

We were so blessed to be a part of this beautiful couple's official beginning of their life together.

SILVER LAKE JCC  BRISKET CONTEST REPORT!

We had a wonderful time tasting and selling Brisket at The Silver Lake JCC Hannukah Festival.  We raised $400 for SOVA and we want to thank everyone for cooking and eating brisket for a good cause!!

All of the briskets were yummy  - but the winner (Big Macher) was first time Brisket competitor Michael Tansey!!

Michael competed against his wife and former first place Brisket winner Francine.  I was assured that all is well in the Tansey household.

Second place went to the ridiculously talented brisket Maven Jill Solloway.

A very special thanks to our very funny professional Brisket Judges:

Jessica Chaffin

Marc Ostrick

Randy Sklar

Anyone interested in volunteering or donating to SOVA in the future can contact Maxine Meyer.
