Hi from everyone at PROVISIONS
Autumn is our favorite time of year.  The weather is starting to get cooler, sort of, and the farmers market is still full of great tomatoes, corn and squash.  Our mission here at PROVISIONS (for life) is to feed people in a way that is respectful and fun, while evoking local and seasonal traditions and having a reasonable social conscience.  If that weren't enough, we just like to cook and plan parties!
After all, why should you cook??!

Underground Wine Tasting Dinner.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continuing our architectural theme, our first Underground Wine Tasting Dinner of the season will be held in the only Greene and Greene house in Beverly Hills.  Originally built downtown, it was moved by a silent film star to the new neighborhood of Beverly Hills around 1919.
This privately owned home has never been open to the public!  If that weren't enticing enough, the gals from COOLHAUS will be making an original ice cream flavor just for the occasion!!
Come for a private house tour, eat fabulous food, drink special wines, dine with our wine expert Amy Atwood and hang with architects/ ice cream mavens Natasha and Freya from COOLHAUS.
Space is limited, so please reserve your spots soon!
Drinks and Tour begin at 7 pm.
Reservations link here!
The Bacon Of Wine Or A Bear Hug From Grandma
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok, that may sound strange to those of you who don't understand or share my obsession with all things porcine, but it was actually an article in FOOD & WINE this month.  Quoting liberally, the writer, like myself, enjoys pork prepared any which way - fancy or basic.  So what is the wine equivalent that you can drink anytime with anything?  The Winner was Merlot:  Jamie Oliver says, "When I started learning about wine, I read a description of Merlot as plush, round, inky, sweet, full.  I thought I want to drink that.  It's like a bear hug from your grandma.  It's safe and warm.  It puts its arms around you and says, 'It's Ok. I'm not here to challenge you, I'm just hear for you to enjoy.'" Check out our wine expert Amy Atwood's favorite Merlots!
