May is National Youth Traffic Safety Month (NYTSM), and we're hoping that your chapter will be holding some sort of traffic safety event this month - a seat belt survey, quick-click challenge, No Phone Zone pledge drive, mock crash, or other activities. We wanted to let you know about a few important chances for your chapter to win cash prizes as part of this month!
First, the National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS) are again offering their "50 BEST AWARDS" - 50 prizes of $1,000 each to the 50 best traffic safety projects. If your chapter is already doing a traffic safety project, why not take 10 minutes, fill out an application form, and have a chance at $1,000? Even better, the first 100 applications submitted will win an automatic $100 prize just for entering! And if all that wasn't enough, just by applying, you can help SADD National win $10,000 for the national conference! PLEASE take 10 minutes and fill out the form today.
Another contest as part of NYTSM is the "YOUTH-TURN IT AROUND" contest. This NOYS program shows how schools and communities have taken a tragedy and turned it into a positive action. Did your school or community suffer a tragedy? How did your chapter respond? Tell your story, and your chapter could win $2,500.

Finally, the Act Out Loud contest is happening again this year, and there are eight chapters involved. Visit
www.actoutloud.org to learn more about the teams competing. Then from May 10-21, vote every day for a SADD Chapter. Last year, SADD Chapters finished first and third in the competition - let's go for a clean sweep this year!
