 Family Advocate for Addiction Treatment

"Connecting Pennsylvanians in need of D & A treatment with the resources necessary to access treatment"

We wanted to inform you of a non-profit program designed to assist Pennsylvanians in overcoming barriers to drug & alcohol treatment.  This program is a result of a grant awarded by PCCD to develop a statewide system to provide advocacy services for individuals and family members experiencing difficulties accessing chemical dependency treatment.  The grant for this program commenced on July 1, 2008.

Families and clients lack advocacy in addressing the cost barriers and difficulties of accessing healthcare coverage.  ACCESS Family Advocacy for Addiction Treatment seeks to remedy the problem of needless barriers to the existing treatment resources.   It is our goal to help people access drug or alcohol treatment regardless of their income or insurance status.  Unfortunately, many families in need of D&A treatment often do not know where to turn for help.  They assume that if they do not have insurance, they can't access treatment.

Simply stated, our mission is to help connect Pennsylvanians in need of D&A Treatment with resources necessary to access appropriate treatment.  Many families who have not been down this path before may not be aware of single county authorities, or even what types of drug and alcohol treatment services are available.  Our job is to make people aware of the services available in their own county or region.
