PA SADD GOES TO WASHINGTON
 PA SADD in DC 2009
SADD students from Somerset and Central Mountain pose for a picture with Senator Arlen Specter.

SADD National helds it's annual conference in Washington, DC in July. A special focus of this year's conference was youth advocacy.  Students learned about public policy and working with legislators to accomplish their goals.  Central Mountain HS and Somerset HS both met with Senator Bob Casey, Jr. and Senator Arlen Specter to discuss teen traffic safety issues.  The legislative visits were the conclusion of the four-day converence, which brought together nearly 500 youth and adults from across the country to share best practices in educating peers and promoting positive decision-making.
