Experience the magic! August 2009

So here is a fine trick, we are enjoying, even reveling in the glory of summer. We feel blessed by long days at the beach, fruit growing on the vine, delicious food shared with family and friends, the elegance and grace of flowers, soft evening breezes, fireflies and moonlight, the rapture of bird song, plenty and ease surround us. But at the same time that we are opening to summer's undeniable invitation to slow down and enjoy life, in the back of all of our minds is the knowledge that the days are getting shorter. So just as we in the northeast are beginning to relax and open we know too well that summer is a temporary bliss.

Does this not sum up life? We are continually challenged to stay present with the joy that is unfolding "now" and make peace with the awareness that it is ephemeral. With the reemergence of sacred feminine consciousness we begin to understand that life is not a static thing. It is dynamic and requires that we embrace and accept all states and conditions of being. The sacred feminine is the "All Embracer". She teaches us to accept with compassion all cycles and all events. She sees every condition every state of being as part of an unfolding whole.

When we are connected to sacred feminine consciousness we can rejoice in the present joy and also peacefully accept that the source of our present joy will decline. We do this by embracing the paradox, knowing that by holding the full spectrum of life we begin to become identified with the essential wholeness that is at the root of all things. We learn to open our hearts to the paradox of our own natures. We learn to stop judging our selves and others and instead allow each stage we are in to unfold, confident that like the crawling child, we will evolve and learn to walk.

The Sacred Feminine ushers in the Age of Heart. The heart knows how to bring opposites into dynamic and fruitful union. Instead of clinging to the light, abundance and activity of summer, we can also learn to simultaneously welcome the decline of light. We can trust that each season, each development stage or cycle carries its own riches and in time leads us forward into another season. This is the dance of opposites the continual balancing and rebalancing of life. Everything is inextricably part of everything else.

When we integrate sacred feminine consciousness, we learn to open equally to the fullness and the emptying. Times of aridity re-tool us and prepare us to embody new realms of being. Like the fields after harvest there are times where is important to lay fallow and restore, so that a new chapter may begin.

Celebrate summer. Revel in the abundance, not with qualifications but with total presence and delight.
Let us deliriously and wholeheartedly soak in the beauty, life in its most magnificent and sensual expression. Let it teach us to bear fruit inside our selves, to slow down and take in all the daily miracles. Let us open like flowers in the sun until the light of the Universe, the Infinite, Love herself shines forth through us radiating uncommon peace, wisdom, compassion and beauty, and let us do this with the unselfconscious abandon of a child.
