Sudan Humanitarian Crisis Your continued prayers for the situation in Sudan are needed. The political situation continues to deteriorate and refugees in the Nuba Mountains face not only dangers from military bombings and violence, but also from disease and famine. A recent New York Times column describes the gravity of the situation. Our Diocesan Convention passed a resolution calling for prayer for Sudan as well as charging the Partners in Mission Committee with developing ways to promote awareness and a sense of God's call to act in Sudan. At the upcoming General Convention at least three resolutions relating to either the crisis in Sudan or assisting Sudanese in the US will be offered (Resolutions A019, B007 and C075, which can be seen here). If you would like more information on Sudan, particularly the crisis in the Nuba Mountains, please contact Slater Armstrong at jsa59@me.com, and if you would like more information on Partners in Mission please contact its Chair, The Rev'd Sharon Alexander at salexander@stmichaelsla.org.
