St Alban's Gives Thanks for C. S. Lewis Lunch Support
The students and hosts of the "Lunch with C. S. Lewis" held weekly at St. Alban's Chapel wish to thank all those churches and individuals who made such generous contributions this past year. The lunches have concluded for the Spring semester but will resume in September. The last lunch of the semester drew 140 students. Each lunch now runs about $500. "Walk the Block/Block the Blight" with Jericho Road
Jericho Road in collaboration with New Orleans Neighborhood Development is supporting a resident led effort to fight blight in some Uptown Neighborhoods. The Faubourg Delassize and Faubourg Lafayette neighborhood association  s are conducting a survey of property in their neighborhoods. Residents use this survey to develop a strategy around targeting the worst blighted properties in the community. Jericho Road also uses the information as a bases for our revitalization strategy. This annual survey has been conducted by members of the community since 2008. 22 residents and 20 volunteers participated in the survey last year. Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana (ECSLA) Living With Purpose Fellowship Update
ECSLA's Living With Purpose program is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 program year, with spaces open in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge! Young adults between 18-30 who are interested in serving full-time with c  ommunity nonprofits, living in intentional community, and growing their faith are encouraged to apply to this 11-month program. For more information, visit www.ecsla.org, or apply here.Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana is pleased to host the annual conference of the Episcopal Service Corps, a network of 22 young adult service internship programs of which ECSLA's Living With Purpose Fellowship is one. Program directors from across the country will convene in New Orleans from Sunday, April 22 through Wednesday, April 25 to share lessons learned, discuss common challenges, and envision ways to strengthen these life-changing programs. Thanks in advance goes to All Souls Church & Community Center for welcoming the group for its closing Eucharist and dinner on April 24.
