Alleluia. Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!
Recently Rebecca and I attended a funeral for a dear friend. During the passing of the peace the Presiding Bishop, Katharine Jefferts Schori, remarked that in the Eucharistic Prayer we will hear the phrase, "For to your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended..." Those words struck me deeply. It was a truth I needed to hear, life is changed, not ended.
This is the message of Easter. Jesus defeated the ending of life and gave us the assurance of being beyond our knowing. What began that morning in sorrow, gave way to new life for me and for the person we came to celebrate.
"For to your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended!" Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
May this Eastertide truly be a time of new beginnings for you and your neighbor.

I am as always,
Your servant in Christ,

The earth shook with the news. He is not here; He is risen! And in that moment, joy replaced despair, hope pushed past fear, and life conquered death not just that day, but for eternity. We celebrate the resurrection of Christ for what it meant then and what it means for us every day a sacrifice that brings forgiveness, renewal, and peace to any of us who put our faith in Jesus.
No matter where we are or what burdens we might be carrying, we have reason to give thanks and praise for the unmatched love of our Savior. As you celebrate Easter, may you embrace the fullness of resurrection as expressed in Gods Word. You might consider reading the Resurrection story in John 20 with your family, or simply re-read your favorite passage to refresh your faith.
As we celebrate the blessings of Easter, may we experience a rebirth and renewal that courses through our hearts and minds, spilling over into our lives and our communities throughout the year. He is risen indeed! Reprinted from YouVersion
