Bishop Morris Thompson Speaks at Downtown Lunchtime Spirituality Series - Tues, April 3rd
The Spirituality in the City series continues at 12:30 on Tues day, April 3 at the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception, 130 Baronne St., New Orleans, with the Right Reverend Morris Thompson, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.
He will speak on "Spirituality: Born through the Community." Bishop Thompson writes, "Much of the conversation will center on the writings of Wendell Berry, a Kentucky writer that has in many ways given me a new understanding of community. Through his poetry and fictional writings I believe he paints a picture of what I refer to as, spirituality rises from the earth." The presentation begins at 12:30 and includes a simple lunch at 12:00. All are welcome. Admission is free. View Flyer Here |
Thank you and Farewell from Brad Powers at Jericho Road

Dear Jericho Road Friends,
Thank you for all your support over the last six years. I am moving on from my job as Executive Director here at Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative. I have been accepted into the 'City, Culture and Community' Ph.D program here in New Orleans at Tulane University. I will focus on Urban Studies as I feel that the greatest opportunity in improving lives will be found in making our cities more productive, equitable and livable. It has been a privilege to be the founding Executive Director of such a wonderful and successful organization. I am proud of what we have accomplished and especially in the manner we did it - with integrity and informed passion. None of this would have been possible without your help.
The Board of Directors of Jericho Road has hired Nicole Barnes to become the new Executive Director. She began work on March 1, 2012 and has already added so much value to the Jericho Road team. Nicole is a seasoned veteran within the community development field and brings both passion and a deep understanding of the challenges of community revitalization. I ask that you reach out to her with an e-mail welcoming her to Jericho. Best Regards, Brad
