Travel to Ordination Opportunities
As previously announced by Bishop Thompson, we have three evening ordinations to the priesthood coming up soon, each beginning at 6:30pm: 12/6 - - Harry Jenkins, Christ Church, Slidell 12/8 - - Patrick Edwards, St. Margaret's, Baton Rouge 12/13 - - Cal Lane, St. Mary's, Franklin
In order to make it easier for folks to attend we have arranged for four buses to transport those who do not want to drive on their own:
Depart St. Luke's Baton Rouge at 4pm on 12/6 for Christ Church, Slidell Depart St. Augustine's Metairie at 4:30pm on 12/8 for St. Margaret's, BR
Depart St. Luke's Baton Rouge at 4pm on 12/13 for St. Mary's, Franklin Depart St. Augustine's Metairie at 4pm on 12/13 for St. Mary's, Franklin The cost of these buses is being offset in part by donations from a handful of parish clergy and the bishop, so we are only asking for a $10 donation per rider for those who wish to ride along (at over $3 per gallon of gas in your own car, this is quite a deal!) We will ask for cash or check (payable to the Diocese of Louisiana) at the time the buses load. Each bus can carry 50 persons. Please encourage clergy and laity alike to attend these ordinations. Reservations for the buses must be made by sending an email to buses@edola.org, indicating the names of the folks and the buses they want to take. Also, don't forget the (transitional) deacon ordination of Alina Williams and Joe Wallace on Saturday, 12/17 at the Cathedral, beginning at 10am. | |
